Welcome to Basil Paterson, an independent coeducational school for pupils aged 14-16 and senior college for students over 16.

We provide a safe and nurturing environment for pupils aged 14-16 to study towards the first crucial exams of their learning careers. At our Middle School we feel that when pupils are content with who they are and where they are learning, then great things can be achieved. We recognise that all pupils are different and that people are suited to different learning environments. We offer a small, friendly learning context where we accommodate the needs of each of our pupils, regardless of academic ability or academic background.

Our senior college offers an academic alternative to school for students to achieve their full potential. We have deliberately chosen to keep the size of classes small as we feel that personalised teaching can have an extremely positive impact on all learners.  We pride ourselves on truly knowing and understanding each and every one of our students. This knowledge informs every aspect of our teaching and fosters a comfortable learning environment conducive to academic development.
